Breast augmentation recovery is in many ways just as important to your results as the surgery itself. That is why you should never make recovery an afterthought. Making preparations before your breast augmentation surgery is key to a smooth, seamless recovery. Keep these breast augmentation recovery tips in mind when preparing for your big day to help your body heal and maximize your results.

  1. Stock up on Light, Healthy Foods

Before the day of your breast augmentation, cross some errands off your list so you don’t have to worry about them when you get home. Pick up plenty of light, healthy foods like soup, lean protein and fresh fruits and vegetables.

If you have some extra time, you can even prepare a few big batches of healthy meals and keep them in the freezer. Then, all you have to do is heat them up and enjoy during your recovery.

  2. Wear Your Surgical Bra

Dr. Mariotti will send you home with a special surgical bra and instructions on when and how long to wear it. Follow these guidelines as closely as you can to not only keep you comfortable but to also aid in your body’s healing process.

A surgical or compression bra can help to reduce fluid buildup and swelling.

  3. Manage Pain with OTC and Prescription Medications as Needed

Many women find that over-the-counter pain medications such as ibuprofen and Tylenol are enough to manage any pain during their breast augmentation recovery. Dr. Mariotti might recommend that you take scheduled OTC pain medications to keep discomfort at bay.

If Dr. Mariotti does prescribe you prescription painkillers, you can have them filled prior to your surgery day.
