PATIENT BACKGROUND: This energetic woman in her late 40’s has recently lost 105 pounds! Not unlike most people after Major Weight Loss, after all the hard work she has been left with sagging skin. She came to see Dr. Mariotti for an upper arm lift.
DR MARIOTTI’S IMPRESSION: She would be a great candidate for an arm lift, otherwise known as a Bilateral Branchioplasties). This would allow me to remove a significant amount of skin from the upper arms, eliminating the hanging skin she has now. The trade-off, which she understands, is a scar which goes from the armpit down to the elbow and in her case may be just a little bit further.
FOLLOWUP/OUTCOME: 2 days after the procedure and there is a resolving bruising as expected and her incisions look great. 3 weeks out and her arms look remarkable for such little time after surgery. At her 3 month post op visit she is “extremely happy” with her results and “can’t wait to wear sleeveless tops again”!
