Your face is one of the first features that people notice about you, but, genetics, sun exposure, smoking and the natural aging process can all make you look older or more tired than you feel. A facelift can help you erase years of lines and wrinkles from your appearance and leave you looking revitalized.
A board-certified plastic surgeon serving clients in Walnut Creek and it surrounding communities, Dr. Eric Mariotti has been able to help hundreds of men put their best face forward with the help of a facelift and is dedicated to providing natural results that help you look like a naturally refreshed version of yourself.

The Best Candidates
While there’s no right or wrong age to get a facelift, many men choose to try non-surgical options such as BOTOX® or injectable fillers before opting for a surgical procedure. However, there are limitations to the results that non-surgical treatments can achieve, so if you’re no longer seeing the results you’d like or if you have moderate to severe wrinkling and sagging skin, you could be a good candidate for a facelift.
Many men combine facelift surgery with other surgical facial rejuvenation procedures for more comprehensive results, depending on your specific goals.
What to Expect
The first step is to sit down with Dr. Mariotti and talk about your hopes for your final results and ask any facelift questions you might have. After listening to your goals and providing a thorough assessment of your needs, Dr. Mariotti will create a customized treatment plan and discuss your facelift options with you.
Your facial plastic surgery will be performed at our surgery center and typically takes just a few hours to complete the procedure.

After Your Facelift
To ensure that everything is healing as it should without any complications, Dr. Mariotti may ask that you spend the first night after your facelift at the surgery center. After checking on you and making sure you have everything you need for a successful recovery, Dr. Mariotti will send you home to complete the healing process.
You can expect some swelling, bruising and minor discomfort to last for the first week or so after your facelift, but these symptoms should subside on their own as you continue to heal. Your results should continue to improve over the next 1 to 2 weeks and you can return to work and other light activities at this time.
Take the first step toward your dream look and contact us online or call our Concord office at 925-685-4533 to request a consultation.
Most importantly, be sure to choose a board-certified plastic surgeon who has ample experience performing facelift and other facial plastic surgeries. Ask to see before and after photos of facelifts performed in the past to get a better idea of the quality of results that you can expect to get yourself.
Everyone will heal at a different pace, but most men feel confident going back to work and out in public within 1 to 2 weeks after their facelift.
No, a facelift won’t address your eye area. Instead, this procedure focuses on your mid and lower face. If you have cosmetic concerns around your eyes as well as other areas of your face, a combination facelift and BOTOX® Cosmetic or eyelid surgery may help you see the best results.
Dr. Mariotti asks that you avoid smoking for several weeks before and after your facelift for multiple reasons. First, smoking can increase your risk of complications during and after surgery. Secondly, tobacco use can slow your body’s healing process and therefore hinder the quality of your results.
With healthy lifestyle choices such as staying out of the sun, not smoking, eating right and using the right skincare products, your facelift results can last for many years to come before a touch-up might be needed.
