Why Breast Augmentation?

Breast Augmentation Stock ImageThe size, shape, and appearance of your breasts can influence how you feel about your body and, in turn, yourself. Whether you desire larger breasts, are trying to recreate your pre-pregnancy shape, want to regain a figure altered by cancer or other trauma, or just hope to turn back the clock, being content with the shape and size of your breasts may help you exude a sense of pride and self-esteem.

During your consultation, Dr. Mariotti will discuss the different approaches to breast enlargement and whether or not a lift in combination with implants is the best thing for you. For further information, read our section on breast lift with augmentation, another option for Walnut Creek women interested in breast enhancement.

During Surgery

Most patients receive general anesthesia and are discharged from the recovery room after about an hour or two of observation following their breast augmentation. Danville, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek residents will find the Concord surgery center conveniently located so that they are able to get home quickly and comfortably.

Showing Off Your New Look

Recovery times can vary widely depending on body chemistry, age and health history. Dr. Mariotti employs a special technique at the end of surgery which assists his patients tremendously with pain management. With light dressings and our recommended massage techniques, this approach greatly reduces any post-operative discomfort you might have. Although implants placed below the muscle can feel tight, any discomfort is easily controlled with oral pain medication.

After the procedure, you will go home with some minimal bandaging to cover your incisions. You will be able to shower and wash your hair the next morning, and be up and around the next day. You can expect to resume light activity or a desk job with no lifting in 3 to 5 days. If you have a more active job, we estimate 2 weeks. After that, choosing the special occasion to reveal your new look is up to you!
