Meet the Staff
Sarah Kaplan, Certified Physician Assistant
Sarah is intimately involved in our East Bay and Walnut Creek patients' plastic surgery experience. She assists in most surgical procedures and provides both pre-operative and post-operative care. She works with other doctors' offices and insurance companies to facilitate patient coverage for reconstructive procedures. She and Dr. Mariotti work very closely as a team in all aspects of our patients' clinical care, and our patients know that they can reach her or Dr. Mariotti at any time of the day.
Sarah received her undergraduate degree from Colorado State University. In 2005, she graduated from the P.A. program at the University of California at Davis. Sarah is also affiliated with several associations and societies including the NCCPA, AAPA, CAPA, AFPPA, and both the American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants and the Association of Plastic Surgery P.A.s.
Deborah Mariotti, Practice Manager/Wife
Deborah handles our Accounts Payable and Human Resources departments. She is also involved in assisting patients with their skin care needs. As she obtained her Master's Degree in Spanish from the University of Indiana, Deb often assists our Spanish speaking patients.
Deb is also Dr. Mariotti's "better half." She's the mother of their three boys, overseer of their busy household and the beauty behind the brains of the operation. She keeps Dr Mariotti sane, healthy and well fed.
Jane Ortiz, Medical Biller
Jane has been with Dr. Mariotti from Day One of his practice, which opened in July of 1999. Now part-time, she is in charge of billing and collections for the reconstructive side of Dr. Mariotti's practice.

Mary Jane Romo, Front Desk Coordinator
Mary Jane, who is originally from the Midwest, is the friendly voice that our patients hear when they call and the welcoming face they see as they enter our office. As Front Desk Coordinator, she schedules most follow-up appointments and also assists our patients with their Visia® Skin Analysis. Known to us fondly as MJ, she has been in the medical field for over a decade.
Jennifer Smith, Patient Care Coordinator
Jennifer's long career in the beauty industry began in 1993 as a make-up artist for Estee Lauder, which led to a position at a popular Peninsula day spa. Four years later she became the General Manager of another large Bay Area spa and continued in this vein as the Med-Spa concept was born. She has served as the Director of Patient Relations for a plastic surgery practice in the South Bay, and also as Medical Spa Director in Palo Alto, before joining our practice in 2008. In addition to managing Dr. Mariotti's operating schedule, she possesses extensive training in skin care (she is state-licensed), and is the resident expert for all of our skin care products. Jennifer educates patients about all our surgical and non-surgical procedures. She lives in San Jose and is the proud mother of two beautiful sons.
