Walnut Creek Mini Tummy Tucks

Tummy tucks are a great option for people who need to re-shape their entire abdomen. For many women, however, a full tummy tuck (or abdominoplasty) may not be necessary. If your main concern is a bulge below the navel and you have minimal skin laxity around the belly button, you may be a good candidate for what we call a mini-tummy tuck, or "partial abdominoplasty."

Dr. Eric Mariotti treats his patients the way that he would like to be treated, which means that he tries to perform the least invasive procedure possible while still achieving optimal results. He serves men and women considering tummy tucks in Walnut Creek, Danville, San Ramon and other communities in the East Bay. If you'd like to make an appointment, simply request a consultation online or call his office at 925-685-4533.

Understanding Mini Tummy Tucks

For many people in Concord, San Ramon and Danville, full tummy tucks and mini tummy tucks may be difficult to choose between. A general indicator that a mini tuck may be an appropriate option for you is if you have a relatively flat tummy with a small amount of loose skin above the pubic hair line. If you are a patient with a previous C-section scar who may have a small bulge hanging over your incision line, you may also be a good candidate for a mini tuck.

A mini tummy tuck is a less complex procedure and will cost about 30 to 40% less than a full tuck. Also, because it is less invasive, a mini tuck requires a much shorter recovery time so you won't be kept away from your regular activities for nearly as long as you would with a full tummy tuck.

During Surgery

San Ramon mini tummy tucks usually take about one hour. Dr. Mariotti makes a small incision just above the pubic mound. Any scar will be well hidden below your bikini or underwear line. The excess skin is removed and the remaining skin is stitched back together again, forming a tighter, firmer tummy. The navel remains in its original place.

Showing Off Your New Look

Because the mini tummy tuck is a smaller undertaking than a standard abdominoplasty, an overnight stay at the surgery center is usually not indicated. Typically people can return to work one to two weeks following a mini tummy tuck.

With loose skin and sagginess eliminated, you will see a smoother, flatter abdomen. Many of Dr. Mariotti's patients look and feel younger after their mini tummy tuck and are comfortable wearing more revealing clothing.
