Breast Lift

Breast Lift Stock ImageAge, pregnancy, weight fluctuations and genetics can all contribute to changes in the appearance of your breasts. Ask any mother who has nursed one or more children, and she will confess her breasts are not as "perky" as they once were. To restore a youthful look to their breasts, women in Concord, Danville, and Walnut Creek choose breast lift surgery from board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Eric Mariotti.

Dr. Mariotti is a board certified plastic surgeon serving women in communities throughout the East Bay. If you'd like to make an appointment, simply request a consultation online or call his office at 925-685-4533.

Why Breast Lift?

Breast lift surgery, or mastopexy, tightens the breast tissue and reduces sagging skin. Breasts that once appeared "low" or "droopy" are given a boost, giving them a more attractive shape and position. In addition, Dr. Mariotti will often reduce the size of the areola, thus enhancing the age-defying effect.

A breast lift does not change the amount of breast tissue, only the shape. If you'd like to increase your cup size or see a fuller upper portion of the breast, you may want to consider undergoing a breast augmentation with a Walnut Creek breast lift. For more information, read our page on breast lift with breast augmentation. Other women would like breasts that are smaller, as well as lifted. These Walnut Creek breast reduction patients often choose to combine their breast procedures.

During Surgery

A breast lift will typically take 2 hours. If implants are desired to further enhance size or firmness, the surgery will probably take 2 and a half or 3 hours, and will be performed at Premier Surgery Center in Concord, located conveniently near Danville and San Ramon. Most breast lift patients receive general anesthesia and are discharged from the recovery room after an hour or two of observation.

Showing Off Your New Look

You will go home after your surgery in a light dressing to cover your incisions. Although implants do feel sore, the pain is easily managed with oral pain medication. You can enjoy a shower the next morning and should be able to move around the house the next day, resuming light activity in 3 to 5 days. If you have a more active job, you should expect a recovery period of about 2 weeks.

Unlike augmentation alone, lifted breasts - with our without implants - will take 3 to 4 weeks to settle into their eventual shape. When the results are fully visible, most women are excited to see that they have regained the perky breasts of their youth.
