Breast Augmentation
There is no doubt that the most feminine of a woman’s attributes are her breasts. Fashion, femininity and a woman’s figure have one element in common: the curve of the breast. Through the ages, women had returned to brassieres and corsets and now surgery to obtain a more aesthetically pleasing bust line. Breasts are one of the most defining features of a woman’s figure, and there is no doubt that the size, shape, and appearance of the breasts can influence how women feel about their body, and, in turn, themselves. Women explore breast enhancement for a myriad of reasons-a desire to have larger breasts, to trying to create pre-pregnancy shape, to regain a figure altered by cancer or other trauma, or just to turn back the clock. The decision to pursue breast enhancement involves learning curve, not only involving your appearance, but your perception of yourself as a woman in a certain type of body. A woman’s shapely breasts help to define her self-image. Women who are content with the shape and size of their breasts exude a sense of pride and self-esteem, reflected in their confident posture.

How long does the surgery last?
Typically, the surgery itself takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours, and is performed at Premier Surgery Center. For most patients, general anesthesia is used and you will be discharged from the recovery room after about an hour or two of observation.

Will I be in pain after surgery?
Recovery times can vary widely with different patients. Dr. Mariotti is known for achieving a remarkably pain free experience with most patients, by using a specific technique at the end of the surgery which numbs most of the breast and chest. That, along with only very light dressings and early massage techniques greatly reduces any post-operative discomfort.

After the surgery…
After the procedure, you go home in a light dressing that covers the incisions. You are able to shower and wash your hair the next morning, and return to normal activities within a few days. Although implants placed below the muscle can feel tight, any discomfort is easily controlled with oral pain medication.

Showing off your new look…
You can expect to be up and around the house the next day, light activity within 3 to 5 days and back at a desk job with no lifting in 3 to 5 days, or a more active job in 2 weeks. When you show off your new, fuller figure is up to you!
